MEANWHILE, IN GERMANY: The weirdest pre-season ‘training’ ever!! - The Werder Bremen Pony race
The likes of Marko Marin, Tim Wiese, Markus Rosenberg and Clemens Fritz were some of the lucky few to take part. Claudio Pizarro returned late from Peru so missed out participating in said race but did get there in time to watch his team mates look rather silly.

Raul celebrates with Schalke fans post Inter win
Not for the first time in the Champions League, veteran Spanish striker Raul produced a brilliant performance for Schalke in the quarter-final second leg win over Inter Milan.
Following the final whistle the Schalke fans set off on their post-match celebrations (a ritual undertaken by all Bundesliga teams) involving the team heading to the fans arm in arm to the supporters.
The Schalke supporters had little doubt who their man of the match was and they beckoned Raul to join them in the stands to lead the chanting and the former Real Madrid forward duly obliged much to the delight of the Gelsenkirchen Arena.
Reports this morning suggest that among the cheering, the Schalke fan with the microphone urged his fellow supporters “to sit down, God [Raul] will speak.”
