Yes, you read that correctly.
Real Madrid have announced they’ll create a $1 billion artificial landscape in the UAE, with the holiday seasony sounding name Resort Island.
Resort Island is a man-made set of peninsulas which will be shaped to mimik the Real Madrid crest with some noticeable add-ons.
For accommodation there will be luxury hotels and villas. Vacationers will enjoy the marina and the amusement park. While football fans are also catered for with a club museum and, here is where it gets wackier, they’ll be a 10,000-seat stadium with one side open to the sea that will broadcast the futuristic, 3D ass-whooping, “first hologram football show” ever.
“It is a decisive and strategic step that will strengthen our institution in the Middle East and Asia,” said Real president Florentino Perez.
The club hope to attract over 1 million people per year to the resort (note, Disney Land attracts around 15 million people a year), and those holiday makers are being targeted from the two billion people who live within a four hour air flight.
….I like the music, and wouldn’t mind a glimpse into what the holographic football would be like.

Does anyone remember/know Lee Trundle?
He was always one of my favourite players growing up, and he had quite a kult following mainly due to his tekkers! I used to have an eye on Swansea just because he played for them, sadly he never got that big money move up to the premier league and languished in the Championship and League 1….now he plays for Neath FC….sigh…

Video Evidence of Tottenham target: Leandro Damiao
As has been the case for a while now, the Daily Mail have confirmed today that “Tottenham are hoping to wrap up a £12million deal for Internacional striker Leandro Damiao, 21, by the end of the week.”
Damiao has spent his whole career at Internacional after coming into professional football relatively late, he has though had a rapid rise in just two seasons at the Copa Libertadores holders and could well solve Harry Redknapp’s striker problem at White Hart Lane.
Ultimately in 2010/2011, despite their attacking adventures in the Champions League, it was the strikers that let Spurs down.
I hope this happens, at 21 for 12mil. Looks like an absolute steel. Personally this might guarentee a top 4 spot. The top 4 is going to be very interesting next season
